Looked backward and made inauspicious start over hurdles on debut in March and fared no better on recent return at Ffos Las. Hard to make a case for.

Looked backward and made inauspicious start over hurdles on debut in March and fared no better on recent return at Ffos Las. Hard to make a case for.

Verdict

Baden looked a decent prospect before disappointingly badly on his return to action at Cheltenham and, although he is entitled to improve for the outing, he didn't look the most willing under pressure. Nicky Henderson's grey could well prove to be a cut above the opposition but he's worth taking on with KAFELLA, who showed no ill-effects from his fall here in October when finishing runner-up at Uttoxeter last month and is now open to further improvement over further. Quietly bumped into a fair performer on hurdles debut at Hexham in Kelka and will appreciate the extra five furlongs here.

Verdict

Nicky Henderson reported that BADEN may need the run at Cheltenham, so he is worth forgiving an underwhelming reappearance, and will have every chance if returning to the pick of his form. Kafella looks the likely danger, though Duncomplaining remains with potential on his return, so isn't dismissed totally.

Maiden/Grade 3 juvenile hurdle winner for Mrs Jessica Harrington, but well held in a couple of handicaps for current yard of late. Chase debut.

Verdict

All eyes will be on 2015 World Hurdle winner Cole Harden who makes his chasing debut after a disappointing season last year when very little went right. However, he doesn't look the biggest for chasing and, with his injury issues, he is worth taking on with ITS'AFREEBEE, who jumped a lot better at Cheltenham than he did at Fakenham on chase debut before looking to stop quickly when beaten 18 lengths by the impressive O O Seven. Connections appear to have found the issue and have placed a first-time tongue tie on to aid his breathing. Minella Charmer looked a decent type over hurdles and is a threat if proving he is capable of handling better ground.

Verdict

This trip is on the sharp side for 2015 World Hurdle winner COLE HARDEN, and Its'afreebee is clearly a dangerous opponent giving his jumping technique looked a real asset at Cheltenham, but in receipt of 7 lb, Warren Greatrex's stable flag-bearer should be up to the task if taking to fences.

First sign of promise in handicaps when staying-on fourth over 2½m at Sedgefield last time, shaping as if this step up to 3m will be right up his street.

Verdict

LOUGH SALT scored with plenty in hand over C&D when last sighted and, given his unexposed profile, he's expected to take a 10lb rise in his stride. Rowdy Rocher signed off last season with a solid second at Kelso on his first start for Sandy Thomson and is worth monitoring closely in the betting on his seasonal return, while it is possible this step up in trip could be a source of immediate improvement for Brian Boranha.

Verdict

LOUGH SALT had a bit up his sleeve when making a successful handicap debut here last month and is selected to make light of a 10 lb rise. Rowdy Rocher made a good start for Sandy Thomson when second at Kelso in the spring and is expected to go well on his return, while Brian Boranha leaves the impression he'll be suited by this longer trip.

Arrived in-form but barely needed to improve when adding to his chase tally at Doncaster (26f) last week. Up 5 lb as a result and likely to find these tougher to handle.

Verdict

Mister Don got up in shadow of the post to score at the expense of Lakefield Rebel at Doncaster last week but will need to raise his game on this occasion. Two Smokin Barrels is an unexposed quantity who must enter calculations on her seasonal/chase debut and Irish Point winner Golden Investment, despite unseating at Ayr latest, is also respected. I JUST KNOW makes most appeal following two creditable performances over the larger obstacles thus far at Hexham (winner) and Market Rasen (second).

Verdict

I JUST KNOW was arguably guilty of going off too hard at Market Rasen on his most recent outing, and could be worth chancing to make it 2 from 3 over the larger obstacles. Golden Investment and Bronco Billy may well emerge as the chief threats.

Essentially endured a disappointing 2015/2016, but step back in right direction when third on C&D reappearance last month. May build on that but is 4 lb out of weights here.

Essentially endured a disappointing 2015/2016, but step back in right direction when third on C&D reappearance last month. May build on that but is 4 lb out of weights here.

Verdict

SAKHEE'S CITY has filled the runner-up berth on all four outings since landing a maiden hurdle in March, including on his reappearance over this C&D last month, and he is entitled to strip fitter for that, as well improve for the application of blinkers. Phil Kirby's charge gets the nod but Boite and El Beau are feared as they return to hurdling and both look feasibly treated. Circus Star loves it here.

Verdict

SAKHEE'S CITY is taken to build on a promising return to action over C&D last month and strike for the Phil Kirby team. Boite posted respectable efforts in competitive events on both starts last season and should go well at this slightly easier level, while William of Orange may have still needed the run here last time and has handicapping scope given his Flat ability.

Winner over hurdles and fences in France. Went wrong on British/stable debut at Sedgefield but back on track when fourth over C&D 10 days ago, albeit shaping as if needing a stiffer test.

Verdict

APTERIX took a clear forward step when striking over fences at Sedgefield last time and is taken to defy a 7lb rise, with this drop in trip not expected to pose Brian Ellison's charge any problems. Nautical Twilight is entitled to come on for her reappearance run at Kelso and could take a hand, though she is 12lb above her last winning rating. A bigger danger may be Indian Voyage, a C&D winner that could build on his course third latest now cutting back in trip.

Verdict

APTERIX is the up-and-coming chaser here, already bettering his hurdles form when winning at the second attempt in this sphere at Sedgefield last month, and is taken to follow up. All of his rival have something to prove for one reason or another, though Indian Voyage did run his best race of the season when third here last time.

Went off at 50/1 but showed promise when second of 15 on Huntingdon debut 25 days ago, keeping on from too far back.

Verdict

This could be between SHEARLING and Passing Call who were separated by a couple of lengths when the former scored on debut over 1m6f at Warwick last month. The latter is 7lb better off with the winner this time but Brian Ellison's charge did really well to get up after a traffic problems and is taken to frank the form. Sweeping Beauty belied odds of 50/1 when runner-up first time out at Huntingdon and looks best of the remainder.

Verdict

SHEARLING did well to get up at Warwick after being short of room just as the race was starting to take shape and can confirm placings with Passing Call despite meeting Alan King's mare on worse terms on this occasion. Sweeping Beauty may prove best of the rest unless the market speaks in the favour of one of the newcomers.
